In a consultative group decision, the entire organization or a part of it, e.g. the department, the scrum team, the works council, …
Procedures using this method always use an explicit proposal phase and a subsequent coordination phase. In the proposal phase, alternatives are eliminated, new ones added or even modified by integrating the objections (so-called “objection integration“). This is the major difference to the operational group decision. This method aims to achieve a high level of consensus or even a basic consensus. (See also consensusT)
This procedure is used for alternatives that are qualitatively rich, i.e. contain a bundle of aspects (we also speak of “power”), or affect each individual so strongly that an individual veto right seems sensible (in contrast to the group veto of the oG – see also KonsenS vs KonsenT).
Examples:
- I would like to change the structure of our work (e.g. change, delete, add a role or change the DoD in Scrum)
